Frequently Asked Questions
1. What should I expect from a parent coach?
The coaching sessions are designed to provide an evaluation of the background of the issue in question, and the factors involved. Dr. Greene can then provide a plan of action implementing behavioral strategies tailored to your own particular situation. In addition, she can provide informed support as you implement the changes, to help evaluate their progress.
2. How will I identify success?
As a parent it can be hard to tell whether a situation is improving from the particular change you are making. For this reason, many parents give up too soon on a very effective behavioral change because they think it's not working. My coaching process helps parents learn to evaluate whether the small changes are early signs of significant success.
3. How many sessions do I have to commit to?
There is no further commitment for someone who wants just one session. For some self-limited topics, one session is enough, especially for the parent who is in need of support with one particular issue.
4. What types of problems are appropriate for this process?
Types of problems that are commonly dealt with in this setting include:
- childhood eating habits and nutrition
- sleep related issues
- switching from crib to bed
- establishing healthy sleeping patterns
- temper tantrums
- disrespectful behavior
- sibling conflict
- homework issues

It's Summertime!
Salad season is here! Try fresh fruit in the salad to entice those who are just warming up to salads in general.
Also:
Visiting a farmer's market helps children connect the food on their plate to the effort that went into producing it, and expands their awareness of different varieties of fruits and vegetables. Bonus for the cooks: many fresh items taste best served raw!
